What this app is
Rise Board League runs board climbing competitions at a set of London climbing gyms. It is sponsored and developed by Rise Climbing, and is contactable at info@rise-climbing.com.
What we collect
Only what the competition needs to work:
- Your email address. Used to sign you in and to contact you about the competition — for example if you place. It is never shown to other climbers.
- Your username. Shown publicly on the leaderboard. Pick something you are happy for other entrants to see.
- Your home gym and category. Your home gym is shown next to your name on the leaderboard.
- The climbs you log — which boulder, and how many attempts it took.
That is the entire list.
What we do not collect
- No location data.
- No analytics or usage tracking.
- No advertising identifiers.
- No contacts, photos or health data.
- No third-party trackers of any kind. The app and this website talk only to our own server.
We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not sell or share your data with anyone for advertising.
How we use it
Your email is used to send a one-time sign-in code and for competition correspondence. Your username, home gym and logged climbs are used to work out the leaderboard, which is visible to other entrants and to anyone using the app.
Cookies
The browser version of the app sets two cookies, both strictly necessary: one holds your sign-in so you are not asked for a code on every visit, and one carries a token that proves a request came from this site. Neither is used for tracking, and there are no third-party cookies.
Where it is stored
On servers in the United Kingdom and the European Union — the application runs in London and the database is hosted in the EU. Traffic between your device and the server is encrypted with HTTPS.
Sign-in codes and session tokens are stored only as cryptographic hashes, so they cannot be read back out of the database.
How long we keep it
Competition results are kept as a record of past events. You can delete everything at any time.
Deleting your data
In the app: Me → Delete my account. That permanently removes your account, your email address and every climb you logged. It cannot be undone. You can also email info@rise-climbing.com and we will delete it for you.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@rise-climbing.com.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update this page and the date above.
